Plot:
A sequel to Stargirl was announced to be in development. Julia Hart returned to direct, while Grace VanderWaal reprises her role as Stargirl Caraway. Elijah Richardson and Judy Greer joined the cast by early 2021, with Greer replacing Sara Arrington as Ana, Stargirl's mother, and Richardson plays Evan, the romantic lead. The sequel, titled Hollywood Stargirl , follows the titular character, as she explores fame and success. Uma Thurman plays Roxanne Martel, a musician that Stargirl admires, and Michael Penn wrote music for the film; Hart and Jordan Horowitz wrote the screenplay. Judd Hirsch and Tyrel Jackson Williams respectively play Mr. Mitchell, Stargirl's new neighbor, and Terrell, Evan's older brother and an aspiring filmmaker.
